currently listening to: "pancho villa" - sun kil moon

i'm home alone because my entire family is out doing their own thing. my parents are off shopping for who knows what, my older sister is with her boyfriend, and my little sister is filming a movie for her french class. and then there's me. i'm sitting here typing and listening to a sun kil moon cd that the boyfriend burned me. it is a very lazy sunday afternoon. i expect to spend the rest of it at home being the best damn homebody i can be.

i got kneed/kicked by a hobo in san francisco last week. i can't understand for the life of me for why it happened or what it all means. i was walking along market and powell with victoria, when a homeless man came up to me and kneed me in the thigh and walked away without even acknowledging that the incident ever happened. i don't know why these things happen to me. i think it may be because i've broken two mirrors in my life so far. this means a total of 14 years of bad luck. people should/would stay away from me if they'd know better. don't get too close, i'll only bring you down with me. if you're not cautious, soon enough you'll find yourself wearing mismatched shoes and quite possibly being kneed by a hobo too. likewise though, i've noticed myself having conversations with people in front of trash cans. i don't know what this all means except that this incident may be one of the few highlights of my week.

last week was also my cousin's sweet sixteen bash at the hilton. yes, the hilton. i don't know of anyone who actually threw a sweet sixteen bash, other than those on MTV. i expected to be something like the MTV-kind, you know, some gigantic party filled with famous hip hop stars like kanye west or maybe even beyonce. i half-expected her to come in with some grand entrance.. maybe with a magic carpet, or an elephant, or something grandiose like that. instead it was a more of a mix of a prom/wedding/cotillion all rolled into one. it was.. um, interesting. but who has sweet sixteens, anyway? my sixteenth birthday was basically me eating a cake that i asked my parents to buy, followed by homework shortly after. yeah, good times.

i'm changing my major tomorrow from BA Art to BFA Graphic Design. you know what that means: i got in! i'm still floating on cloud nine since i read my name on the list of the 26 individuals who passed the review. 26 out of some 80-90 applicants. now that is really, really crazies. things are finally starting to feel like summer vacation. oh relaxation.
