Currently listening to: "Grace Cathedral Hill" - The Decemberists

I made a list of things to do before the summer ends (all completely important things, of course).

1. Crawl into a hole and die.
2. Help a brotha (or sista?) out
3. Get a hair cut
4. Blow a good portion of last month's paycheck on shameless consumerism (hello new fall wardrobe!)
5. Start running
6. Pick up the guitar
7. Get on a plane somewhere
8. Read a book

Number 1: Has been tried and tired. I need to dig a hole first.

Number 2: Well, no one seems to need help yet.

Number 3: Will be accomplished as of next Wednesday. I made an appointment for 10am at a swanky, hip salon to get my beastly mane tamed. Before and after pictures to come.

Number 4: Hasn't been working. I feel like I have A.D.D when it comes to shopping these days. There's too much to look at and everything all starts to look the same. Can't be a focused consumer.

Number 5: I started actively running for the first time in years today. I ran three laps around the park and I really did enjoy it. I forgot how great it felt to just run. Nothing could bother me, except for mosquitos and random bugs flying in my face. But other than that, it was like a zen state of mind. I wanted to just keep running but my legs are still sore from yoga. This is honestly a new thing for me. I've never been so physically active out of my own free will. Truly a first for a lazy mofo like me.

Number 6: My calluses are nearly nonexistent now. This is a sign that I need to start playing again.

Number 7: I have two free roundtrips and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't put either to use. I have this urge to get away somewhere before school starts. It's like this need to get away somewhere, even if it's only for a few days. Flying off to San Diego every now and then has spoiled me with the need to jet-set into different cities. I just miss flying. I miss the anticipation of going somewhere during the take off, and the feeling of relief of being home during the landing. I just like going places by means of an airplane.

Number 8: Sameeran has suggested lots of books to me in the past few months alone. Maybe for once I'll read one of them. I think I will pick up his most recent suggestion, Autumn Brocade.

All of these goals must be accomplished along with two freelance projects. Huzzah for keeping busy!
