Currently listening to: "My Little Corner of the World" - Yo La Tengo

Valentines weekend: Our first Valentine's spent together, but the third time to be each other's valentines. I made Sameeran a card and he took me out to dinner at a teppan-style, Japanese grill restaurant where I tried kobe beef for the first time in my life. And let me tell you, that was some deliciously tender and soft meat! We smelled like burnt, grilled meat, but who doesn't like the smell of burning? Romantic!

I went with Sameeran to buy his first suit. The saleswoman was crazy, pushy, and incredibly eager to converse about meaningless and random things. She started off by what had seemed like an innocent compliment of Sameeran's socks, only to later add on that she bought her grandma the same pair. She then swayed about when Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I am" started playing on the radio. She started humming along and began attempting to sing along. She looked at me with wide eyes and asked if I knew the name of the song and who sang it. I said yes, and she asked me to write it down for her on her business card.

While he was trying on his suit, the saleswoman started blabbing on about her secret dual dating adventures with a pastor and a lawyer. I've been told that although the lawyer buys her expensive cashmere sweaters, she's leaning more towards the pastor. She said, "Now I don't know how religious you are, but I think that being with a pastor is like a gift from god! It's someone you can really trust, you know??" Uh, awkward. Confused, I sat there smiling and semi-nodding along as if I concurred.

We were out of the store in less than twenty minutes. I don't know about how long it generally takes to buy a suit, but for a first time suit buyer, I would think that we should have spent more decision making time. I'm still surprised that I let us be overwhelmed like that, but damn, that woman was good at getting you in and out without really knowing what hit you.

I flew home late Sunday night, and two days later, I came down with a huge cold. I have now lost my voice, and am feeling more bummish and sickish than ever. But, despite my current state of poor health, I am happy.
